Waring, 52, lives in Sevierville with Caroline, his wife of 25 years, and their two children: Katherine, an Honors College student at UT, and Luke, a sophomore at SCHS. His great-grandmother is a direct descendant of revolutionary war soldier Major Hugh Henry, and his great grandfather was Captain Ned Underwood, a river pilot who ferried a riverboat on the French Broad between Knoxville and Sevierville. Both were residents of Kodak.

He is owner of Prestige Development and has been active in residential and commercial development and construction since 1988. Projects include Belle Meadows subdivision, Sunrise Meadows Town homes, Dolly Parton Business Park, and several branch locations for Mountain National Bank.

He attended UT and has participated in continuing education in zoning, planning and development through regional and national organizations for the past 20 years including the TN Dept of Environment and Conservation’s program for the protection of state waters and the recent Built Green Communities program, which promotes voluntary land-use and community design that minimizes environmental impact, preserving natural resources, balancing open space and density, and reducing infrastructure costs through efficient design.

Waring participates in community and business organizations including: eight years on the Sevierville regional planning commission; charter member of the Friends of the Great Smoky Mountains; past president and founding member of Seymour Rotary Club; past board member and member since 1986 of the Sevier County Homebuilders; organizer and advisory board member for Mountain National Bank. He is dedicated to education and supports team sports; he has worked with Greater Sevierville Little League (and served as a baseball coach) and Pigeon Forge High School on building projects and has recently spearheaded fundraising efforts for the construction of a baseball facility at Sevier County High School.
